NOOR ART GALLERY

Noor Bank, one of the UAE’s leading Shari’ah-compliant banks, is featuring the works of Ukrainian artist Vera DG at the Noor Art Gallery, located at the bank’s branch on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
Running between the 9th of January till 20th of February, the exhibition comprises a selection of the artist’s signature portfolio – the Calligraphic artworks in the style of Modern Calligraffiti. The artist primarily works with acrylic paints, gold on canvas.
In her works, the artist combines Arabic and European calligraphy in very unusual compositions.

Quoz Arts Fest, the region’s biggest arts and culture festival organized by Alserkal. Exploring the theme ‘In Search Of…’, this edition of Quoz Arts Fest will be the largest to date, with art exhibitions, live music, performances, food trucks, outdoor installations, film screenings, and more, including a free concert by Jordanian-Palestinian band 47Soul, and the exhibition New National Dish: UAE, in collaboration with London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.

Named after the atmospheric sikkas (alleyways) at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood where it is based, SIKKA Art Fair is a make-your-own art adventure where you wander through the barjeel (wind-catcher) houses of Old Dubai, which are turned into mini art galleries and installations for the course of the festival. Each house hosts the work of emerging artistic talent from the region.
Expect the unexpected through every doorway. You might encounter live painting, giant puppets, Arabic ‘Calligraphiti’, 3D portraits or groundbreaking works of audio, video and performing arts. When you need a break, grab a seat in the main square and enjoy a rich diversity of entertainment, from Afro-Tarab and classical music concerts to spoken word poetry and thought-provoking film. An event that welcomes all, SIKKA is an integral part of Dubai’s Art Season, and best of all – free.
